Workshops and training days
I offer training workshops to suit your needs, from a half-day to a two-day course.
Beginners can start from scratch, exploring what exactly PR is, what they can expect it to achieve, planning a campaign, writing a press release, how to pitch, how to find angles, and so on.
For those with some experience, the workshops can help develop a specific area, or give a general 'MOT' for existing PR work.
Another useful activity can be a one or two-hour 'Mini Guide to PR' to give other members of your organisation or board a better understanding about why you do PR and what it involves.
Learning your own, lasting PR skills through mentoring is becoming increasingly popular.
This approach enables musicians and organisations to handle their own PR campaigns, learning all the necessary skills involved, with help and support every step of the way.
Making your own contacts and building your own relationships can be incredibly beneficial, as well as being a very cost-effective way of having PR.
I regularly give lectures to higher education students on arts management and music degree courses, both as part of a taught course, or offered as part of professional development. Knowing and understanding PR basics, how to approach a campaign and being able to develop PR skills can be invaluable to musician or administrator's professional life.
